We knew back in autumn of 2020 that the “Hunter Biden laptop from hell” was real. Of course, it was totally plausible, for anyone that wasn’t a journalist or regime lackey, that a crackhead son of a prominent American politician was both compromised and dumb enough to leave the laptop in the hands of strangers. But what is almost incomprehensible, is the degree to which the regime would go to lie, obfuscate, and cover up some very obvious evidence of official corruption at the time. Yeah, I get it, Orange Man Bad and all that, and of course, the regime was always going to drop the mask and do everything it possibly could to punish the insurgent elite defector. But the response to the laptop was even more outrageous than even I, a dissident and skeptic of the regime could have imagined.
If you recall, the NY Post was suspended from Twitter as a consequence of reporting on the story. Then More Than 6 Million Intelligence Agents, or whatever, signed a letter claiming unequivocally that the laptop, and what was contained on it, was “Russian disinformation.” Every Expert News Source in the country, with the exception of the NY Post ran with this and anyone claiming otherwise was either marginalized or kicked off of social media. But, here we are, a few years later, and it is now expedient for regime bootlickers to finally admit the evidence is real. The only reason they are finally coming to terms with this is probably because throwing Biden under the bus at this date probably serves some greater purpose, such as the first move in removing him from the ring in 2024. But whatever. Biden’s chances in 2024 aren’t the point of this article.
The NY Post has resumed reporting on the topic and they are starting to connect some dots. Let me spare you some time: Hunter Biden did a bunch deals with unsavory characters in places like China and then money ends up flowing back to the old man. I’m not a professional criminal investigator, but anyone that isn’t a journalist or government employee can probably figure out what was going on all along. Now, I suppose this is all well and fine for the regime and, in reality, is probably part of “how it works” and just one of the perks of being a regime puppet. Also, when China’s role in the world is to provide cheap semi-slave labor for neoliberal capital and sell Americans electronic trinkets, this probably doesn’t really matter all that much.
But what happens if, and most likely when, the reality of kinetic conflict between the US and China crosses some particular threshold? What happens if, and most likely when, China makes its move on Taiwan? What happens if, and most likely when, China gains a foothold in the first island chain? What will the regime think then of the grifters who had been subject of the CCP’s strategy of elite capture?
Bear in mind, the laptop is not a conspiracy theory. The regime now concedes.
Bear in mind, China’s desire for regaining Taiwan, and the geopolitical threat they present to the first island chain, is a real problem, and the US defense budget says so.
Bear in mind, the strategy of elite capture is something we know about because China is pretty open and brazen about it. And even academics seem to be aware of it.
So, when the shit inevitably hits the fan in the Western Pacific, what becomes of the grifters and the people who were subjects of CCP influence campaigns? It might not matter in peacetime, when there is no military threat, but this will not always remain the case. And the receipt leading back to Joe Biden and his ilk?
Well, those records are forever.
I can imagine a time in the future when there may come an “oh shit” moment for the regime when China finally decides to assume what it believes to be its rightful place in the world. When that happens, people are going to be asking questions. And the hawks within the regime, who were not getting paid, are going to suddenly have a paper trail to reference. The public is going to want to know “how did this happen” and there are going to be bank accounts and vacation homes and brokerage accounts that are going to tell a story.
Trump was always a true believer in the system, despite how the system treated him. But my opinion in 2016 was that the reform of the regime, which he advocated, was the last chance to do it “the easy way.” There are a number of emerging crises and challenges that all point to the fact that, yeah, reform will eventually happen — because the intrusion of reality will likely require it. But the reform that will need to happen is now almost certainly going to happen “the hard way” and will likely happen in the face of a near or actual existential crisis for the nation.
When the day of reckoning eventually arrives, which seems to be more and more likely as events progress, let’s not forget who played a part in both facilitating and covering this up.
And let’s not forget there are receipts.
